Mission of Office of Veteran’s Services

The Delaware Office of Veterans Services (OVS), an esteemed agency of the Delaware Department of State, is dedicated to supporting veterans living in the First State and their families. Our mission is to ensure that veterans have access to the services and benefits they have earned through their military service. This includes assistance with disability compensation, employment opportunities, supportive housing, and various other forms of housing assistance.

Comprehensive Support for Veterans

OVS plays a crucial role in advising and assisting policymakers and state agencies on matters concerning Delaware veterans and their families. We are committed to advocating for the best interests of veterans at all levels of government, ensuring that their voices are heard and their needs are met. Our office also provides essential administrative support to the Delaware Commission of Veterans Affairs (DCVA), enhancing our collective ability to serve the veteran community effectively.

Honoring Our Veterans with Memorial Services

In addition to our advocacy and support services, OVS administers and maintains Delaware’s two Veterans Memorial Cemeteries, located in Bear and Millsboro. These cemeteries serve as solemn and respectful resting places for our veterans, honoring their service and sacrifice. We take great pride in ensuring that these memorials are maintained with the utmost care and dignity.
