“We the Veterans Rally” on April 23, 2026
On behalf of Brigadier General (Ret.) Karen Berry, Delaware Secretary of Veterans Affairs, you are invited to the 3rd Annual We the Veterans DE Rally on Thursday, April 23rd, 1230-1330, in the Tatnall Room, Legislative Hall, Dover. A group picture will follow.

Last year, we stood together and made history with the passage of HB 1, establishing Delaware’s first cabinet-level Secretary of Veterans Affairs. This year, we turn that momentum into action, focused on advancing key priorities impacting veterans and their families.
This working session will bring together veteran leaders, organizations, and legislators to share updates, strengthen collaboration, and begin developing action plans around:
- SB219 Veteran Pension Exemption
- Protection through HB 31 (Claim Shark Bill)
- Veteran Service Officers and Helping Organizations
- Increased funding for the Veterans Home
- Expanded Veterans Directed Care
- Addressing veteran suicide, housing, and delays in care
- Veteran and rural healthcare
We ask each Post/Organization to:
- Ensure the Commander/Director attends (or designate a representative)
- Engage with your legislators
